The highlight for every balloonist and an incredible experience for every passenger – crossing the Alps by hot air balloon to Italy. It is an indescribable moment every time, floating over the snow-capped peaks of the Alps in a balloon.
A feeling of boundless freedom and a spectacular view of the impressive mountain world of the Alps, as is only possible during a balloon flight over the Alps.
What is more spectacular than a balloon flight? An Alpine crossing!
A balloon flight over the peaks of the Alps to Northern Italy is an extraordinary experience. This Alpine crossing by hot air balloon is only possible under ideal weather conditions and is therefore a rare adventure. For meteorological reasons, Alpine crossings are only possible in the winter months from December to March. The flight duration is usually between 3 and 5 hours – with distant views of up to 200 kilometers. A constant north wind of about 40–60 knots, which only occurs a few times per winter, is a prerequisite.
The launch often takes place between Rosenheim, Bad Tölz, and Lake Chiemsee, but can be relocated depending on the weather situation. During the flight, the highest peaks of the Alps lie beneath the balloon basket. After landing in Italy, a warm welcome follows, along with a joint search for accommodation in the landing area. We will inform you early about suitable weather windows, prepare you for the balloon flight at high altitude, and help with appropriate warm clothing if needed.
