The Ballonhafen
in Bad Griesbach
It all began with the great passion of company founder Michael Wimmer. Even as a hobby pilot, ballooning was much more than just a pastime for him – it was his true calling. Equipped with the necessary licenses, he regularly flew over the Lower Bavarian Rottal and enjoyed the freedom above the gentle hills of the landscape.
In 1996, the opportunity finally arose to turn this passion into a profession. Michael Wimmer took over a small company including a balloon, laying the foundation for today’s Ballonhafen Bad Griesbach.
Today, Ballonhafen is managed by the second generation, Lukas Wimmer, who continues his father’s passion and commitment and continuously develops the business.
Ballonhafen is now one of the top addresses for spectacular balloon rides – far beyond Bavaria, extending to Austria and even Italy.
Ballonhafen Bad Griesbach is an aviation company approved by the German Federal Aviation Office (DE.BY.BOP:005).
Our balloons are regularly maintained and undergo prescribed inspections. We constantly keep up with new developments in aviation law and are in exchange with numerous other balloonists to offer you the highest possible safety.
